Schedule sample #1

by Michele

This is our current daily plan. It has changed many times. I'm not all that strict about the times. The order of the plan is way more important. I give myself a 30-minute leeway with times and consider it successful. You can't tell by this message, but my children are "color coded" and their responsibilities are in their colors. It is very at a glance using the colors. Again, that is mainly for my benefit. Sometimes I get so bogged down, I don't even know what we are supposed to be doing. I can always go to my list (which is laminated for durability) and get my bearing. It also keeps my children on the "same page". When they are reminded about after meal chores, they know nothing is being added and they know every one else knows what they are responsible for. It has taken NINE years for this list to morph into the usable plan that it is. There have been many changes as parents schedules changed, baby, toddler, school, etc. I have read, the list is your tool, don't let it master you. Deal with too high expectations, by changing the list to suit where you are. -Michele
